Blower Motor Controls
Modern blower motor controls have become quite complex. Even in many base-model vehicles, the blower motor resistor has been replaced with solid state control devices to provide variable speeds. Diagnosing these blower motor systems require a basic understanding of the controls involved. This course will cover the theory and operation of modern blower motor controls, as well as, using case studies to demonstrate efficient diagnosis.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
• Explain the operation of a solid-state blower motor controller
• Describe communication between the HVAC module and blower motor controller
• Differentiate between a failed controller or failed blower motor
