The 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines used on GM trucks for many years are part of the LS engine family. These have been solid engines, but problems do exist and offer a lot of sales opportunities for both regular service and repair. Of particular note is the failure of lifters and the damage to the camshaft.
