Mode $06 is one of the 10 generic functions of a scan tool. While it is certainly less popular than other functions such as DTCs, data stream, or bi-directional controls, there is some great information to be found in Mode $06. While many technicians may have originally discovered Mode $06 in the days of trying to determine Ford misfires, it has come a long way, and can provide much useful information.
