In this class we will look at why manufacturers use VVT on so many engine platforms.  We’ll discuss fuel economy, power, and emissions benefits simply by changing cam timing in relation to crankshaft position. Next, we’ll look into how to determine camshaft position by looking at scan tool data, as not all manufacturers use the same reporting schemes. A brief review of common (generic) DTC’s associated with cam timing errors will also be discussed
