Ford has used 5 methods of Passive Anti-Theft Systems in recent history. Some systems have a stand-alone PATS module, while others have it in the PCM or the instrument cluster. These systems rely on signal communication from a transceiver to a receiver, and will result in a no start condition if this signal is lost or corrupt. This can happen due to component damage, wiring fault, component replacement, or even foreign objects hanging from the customers key chain.
Class Highlights:
- Learn to identify the different systems
- Locate and diagnose faults in the PATS system
- System reset and relearn
- Add additional keys
